Because we love it. Is it the traffic jams? Maybe the smell of a new car? No idea. Nonetheless, I do know that Americans (and quite possibly most of the rest of the world) romantacize about it.
So what happens if you get a bit gimpy? I guess if you have any sense, you might worry some. Or maybe that nagging aunt tells you it is just too dangerous.
What to do? Sit at home. Nope, not in every case. Sure, there are some folks with no business behind the wheel. But there are plenty that just need a little help.
In this video, I demonstrate some of the finer points of a Toyota Sienna adapted a little, just for someone like me. Or maybe you? Or maybe someone you think could use a hand….
I have a Braun Entervan here. It makes a world of difference getting back one’s independence with vans like these. Before I attempted a small trailer for the back of my old car, but that was truly unrealistic to keep up with, especially as I continued to progress with the EDS. Although mine doesn’t have that helpful front seat feature. I usually have the boys help load the wheelchair (and retrieve it) for me. I transfer from it to the driver’s seat from outside. Some days that is definitely easier said than done. lol

Yep. These are fabulous innovations- great for independence. If you have not read about Mr. Braun, who started the whole industry, you should. Very inspirational! Be well.
