Evolution of the Wheelchair

This morning I ran across an interesting article in National Geographic discussing the history of the wheelchair. I had no idea how long these vehicles have been around. Quite a bit of progress! https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/wheelchair-history-innovation-technology-independence

Those that walk regularly likely do not think much about it.

Those of us that lost the ability to walk over time think about every step we take.

Those first getting into a wheelchair may feel reborn, or find themselves struggling to figure out how they can get on with their life.

Either way, if you do need a chair, we can be grateful for the years of progress that give us an opportunity to live as best we can.

I am just a guy with a disease called adrenomyeloneuropathy. I want other guys with the disease to see the good parts of disability. Not the gloom. Not the doom. Make sense?
